About the campaign

Gemach Hatzalah: Let us open the road to saving lives together. For 28 years, Klal Yisroel has been blessed with the life-saving organization GMACH Hatzalah, which throughout all these years has had the zechus to be messengers from Hashem in saving thousands of patients and serving as a lifeline for their families by providing free transportation to hospitals. Klal Yisroel cannot stop marveling at the incredible relief this organization brings to patients and their families. Most have benefited from their warmhearted help, given with endless kindness. They are always here to give Cholei Yisroel and their families free trips to and from hospitals, near and far, summer and winter, Erev Shabbos, Purim afternoon, Erev Pesach and whenever needed. Gemach Hatzalah has close to 10 full-time paid drivers on a daily basis, in addition to hundreds of volunteers who give up hours of their time for these trips! Gemach Hatzalah operates a fleet of as many as 14 vans / sprinters, that are active around the clock on the roads bringing Cholei Yisroel to hospitals, clinics, and wherever they need to get to! Gemach Hatzalah is now at a rate of close to 300 trips a day, all completely free for patients! Gemach Hatzalah carries the burden of paying for gas, insurance, payroll for many drivers, office expenses, vehicle maintenance, and much more! Gemach Hatzalah has a record of saving dozens of Cholei Yisroel from death, by bringing their loved ones to their bedside and, at the very least, easing their bitter pain when they would otherwise be alone in the hospital. Gemach Hatzalah has an enormous budget of over $2.6 million a year! In the coming year the expenses are expected to rise, due to ongoing expansion and especially because of heavy inflation and increased tolls in Manhattan. However, Gemach Hatzalah has no income, no government assistance, no insurance reimbursements, etc. they are in a very difficult financial situation, at a time when everything costs far more than ever before. Gemach Hatzalah is now in an exceptionally serious state, practically at a “gridlock”, with a massive deficit threatening the very existence of this critical organization. Only exceptional public participation, with Hashem’s help, will secure its future and its’ life-saving resource for patients. Today, let us open our hearts and listen to the heartfelt cry of so many Cholei Yisroel, who plead for our help, and take part in these life-saving trips. Bringing “life” to Cholei Yisroel in hospitals.
